Electrical power to the Hoboken PATH Trian Station went out at about 5:52 PM Monday; during the height of the evening rush hour. Commuters existing trains found the platform area shrouded in darkness, with only the minimal lighting available from Emergency lights.
The PATH (Port Authority Trans-Hudson) Train system serves several hundred thousand commuters each day between Hudson County (Jersey City/Hoboken/Newark) in northeastern, NJ, and downtown New York City from 33rd St, down to the World Trade Center.
The Port Authority said its crews — electricians and police — are responding to the station to investigate.
