Members of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) were part of a mob that followed and threatened Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) Saturday afternoon in Louisville, according to a video posted by the Louisville DSA chapter.
DSA members and other unaffiliated leftists followed McConnell at close quarters from a restaurant to his car chanting and yelling, with one protester repeatedly threatening McConnell, “We know where you live, Mitch!”
McConnell walks slowly – leaving him vulnerable to mobs – as a result of a childhood bout of polio. McConnell’s unsteadiness on his feet recently prompted a CNN reporter to question his holding hands with President Trump going up a set of stairs.
The Democratic Socialists of America have risen to national prominence and influence within the Democratic Party with the stunning primary victory last month by DSA member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over the fourth most powerful House Democrat Joe Crowley in New York’s safe 14th Congressional District, virtually guaranteeing her a seat in Congress next year. Ocasio-Cortez’s victory for the DSA was preceded in May by four Pennsylvania DSA members who won Democratic Party primary nominations for the state legislature.
A group of Louisville residents, including several @DemSocialists members, had a message for Mitch McConnell as he left a local restaurant today. Powerful people like Mitch deserve no peace while they enable the imprisonment of babies in concentration camps. #AbolishICE pic.twitter.com/ruCXhbnKse— Louisville DSA 🌹🥃 (@dsa_louisville) July 7, 2018
Louisville DSA later posted that the man screaming, “We know where you live, Mitch!” is not a DSA member, but the group expressed no concern over his threats. (Louisville DSA did post the threat to Twitter, after all), “We’re not sure who that is—not a DSA member but he showed up because he’s had enough of Mitch and Trump!”

Two weeks ago a group of protesters approached McConnell and his wife, Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, as they tried to enter their car while leaving en event at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

With Kentucky’s junior Senator Rand Paul (R) having been shot at in a D.C. suburb, and badly beaten at his Kentucky home last year, and having his children recently threatened with disembowelment, threatening the senior senator and Majority Leader that you know where he lives is not a wise move.
