Gosh, gee whillikers, there's Navy ships sitting in the lobby of the VA Hospital in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah?
Who would of thunk it?
The United States Navy has ordered all of its vessels in the area around Hampton Roads, Virginia to "Set Sortie Condition "Charlie" - Make final preparations this weekend to put to sea Monday to avoid Hurricane Florence.
Computer Models dealing with Hurricane Florence are literally all over the place as far a potential track along the US east coast. Take a look at this mess from yesterday's computer model run:
How do you even hope to make a forecast with a MESS of possible track like this?
One thing is clear however, the US east coast ___is___ going to be hit by this storm as opposed to it somehow turning and heading out to sea. So SOME of us are going to get walloped!
If you live anywhere between Orlando, Fl and New York City, you need to be keeping a very close eye on this because wherever it hits, forecasters are saying it is likely to be a Category 4 storm with sustained winds of 130 MPH. It's going to do some serious damage; not just with wind, but with enormous STORM SURGE, treacherous surf and life-threatening Rip Currents.
If you need Emergency Food, water, medicines, flashlights, portable radios and spare batteries, fuel in your vehicle and for any Generators you may own, you'd better get them THIS WEEKEND because folks who wait will find stores SOLD OUT and gas stations EMPTY once everyone realizes they need these things.
It is better to prepare and not NOT need it, than the NEED IT and NOT have it.
