President Donald Trump said Wednesday that three American prisoners released from North Korea were headed home, a sign of potential good will ahead of Trump's planned meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
In a tweet, Trump said "the 3 wonderful gentlemen that everyone is looking so forward to meeting" were accompanying Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on his way back from a visit to North Korea.
I am pleased to inform you that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is in the air and on his way back from North Korea with the 3 wonderful gentlemen that everyone is looking so forward to meeting. They seem to be in good health. Also, good meeting with Kim Jong Un. Date & Place set.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 9, 2018
The president then tweeted that Pompeo and the three men would arrive at Andrews Air Force Base at 2 a.m., and that he would greet them.
Secretary Pompeo and his “guests” will be landing at Andrews Air Force Base at 2:00 A.M. in the morning. I will be there to greet them. Very exciting!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 9, 2018
Americans should consider traveling to Andrews Air Force Base to line the road in/out of the base to cheer this event. Bring flags, signs, banners in celebration. This is a wonderful happening for the men, for America, for President Trump AND for North Korea.
It appears that North Korea has made a genuine, positive, change toward rejoining the community of nations with a spirit of honesty and Good Will. It is only right to give credit where credit is due. It is also good to show these returning men that America really does care about . . . . each of us.
Here is a Google Map for the area around Andrews for those wishing to line the road in/out of the base.
