According to the US Geological Survey, a strong Magnitude 6.7 earthquake has just struck northern Japan.
The quake took place at a depth of 39km and was widely felt. Tsunami Analysis is pending but no Buoys are alerting in the ocean.
The last time a sudden strong earthquake near this magnitude struck, was just one day before a much stronger 9.0 struck, causing a Tsunami that killed thousands and caused three nuclear power reactors to meltdown and explode in Fukushima during March, 2011.
