If Israel starts it, then Iran has to defend itself. Iran should consider the attack an act of war. I would. Wouldn't you?
New high-tech surface-to-air missile defense systems delivered by Russia to Syria will be manned and operated by IRANIANS until members of the Syria Arab Army can be properly trained in the operation of the sophisticated missile system.
Iranians will not hesitate to shoot down any Israeli military aircraft launching attacks into Syria!
This is a worrying development for the situation in the Middle East.
The entire premise for Israel launching air and missile strikes into Syria over the past year has been to stop Iranian military build-up inside that country. Now, the very military that Israel has been attacking in Syria with impunity, is not only equipped with the S-300 missile system, they are the one's whose fingers are on the trigger!
Russia was clearly planning to let Iranians operate the anti-air defense system all along, since it sent Syria S-300PMU-2 systems, exactly the same model which Iran received from Russia in 2016. The Iranians are well versed in the operation of the S-300 and can competently use the system.
Israel has pledged to CONTINUE making attacks inside Syria despite the deployment of the new missile system. Talk, however, is cheap. Since the arrival of the S-300 in Syria, no Israeli military attacks have been launched against Syria.
This could develop very quickly into a major conflagration if Israel chooses to make good on its threat to continue attacks, now that Syria has the S-300 and those systems have Iranian fingers on the missile triggers. If Israel launches attacks, and their planes get shot down by Syrian S-300's fired by IRANIAN troops, will Israel treat that as an act of war by Iran?
The implications are very serious.
