Folks, I am in quite a quandary as of about noontime on Sunday, December 3 because - to my utter shock -- funding to keep the radio show airing, and this web site online during December, has still not come in.
I began asking for your support during my Wednesday radio show. Between Wednesday and Friday, 25 people donated. On Friday morning, I mentioned that the money was way short, and expressed my hope that, because Friday was "pay day" folks would step-up. Since Friday, THIRTEEN (13) more folks donated. That brings the total donors since Wednesday to thirty-eight (38)
I'm not certain now, what to do about this. I have enough to do EITHER this web site, OR the radio show. NOT BOTH.
It is open information as to the rates charged by radio station WBCQ to air shows. So that's no secret. It is common knowledge that web hosting, cloud-based data transfer costs for the hundreds-of-thousands of people who visit this site each month, can far outweigh the radio costs. Then too, there's the telephones for callers to speak on the air, Internet service costs for streaming audio servers add to the costs and so on. All these services add-up every month.
USUALLY, I can count on more than 200 people donating in any given month. Not so as of right now.
Hopefully, those of you who enjoy the news and commentary on this web site, will step-up right now and subscribe for $1 per week billed either Quarterly ($13) or Monthly ($5).
If a subscription is not for you, then perhaps a one-time donation of $10. $20. $35. $50, $100 or whatever amount you can, using either the DONATE button at the top right of this page, or by mailing cash, check or money order to me at my address below.
The fees for web hosting will withdraw from my bank account MONDAY MORNING. If those fees do not clear, I will have twenty days to pay or this site will be shut off by the hosting company. I must also pay WBCQ by Tuesday, or they cannot air my show the next day. So we're down to less than 24 hours to get the funds needed to stay alive in this endeavor.
Here are the names (except last names) of the thirteen additional donors since Friday:Add a comment
On Saturday, the United States informed the United Nations (UN) that it is withdrawing from a UN pact which sought to improve the handling of migrant and refugee situations, deeming it "inconsistent" with US policies.
In September 2016, the 193 members of the UN General Assembly unanimously adopted a non-binding political declaration, the "New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants" pledging to uphold the rights of refugees, help them resettle and ensure they have access to education and jobs.
"The New York Declaration contains numerous provisions that are inconsistent with US immigration and refugee policies and the Trump Administration's immigration principles. As a result, President Trump determined that the United States would end its participation in the Compact process that aims to reach international consensus at the UN in 2018," the US statement said.
US Ambassador Nikki Haley said the country would continue its "generosity" in supporting migrants and refugees around the world, but that "our decisions on immigration policies must always be made by Americans and Americans alone."
Air Raid sirens are blaring in Haifa and in Jerusalem over in Israel right now. Residents are being urged to take cover immediately.
While the exact cause of this alarm is not yet known, it comes just 90 minutes after Israeli warplanes launched a barrage of missiles into Syria, to attack an Iranian military base outside of Damascus. Of the seven missiles fired by Israel, 4 were shot down, but 3 actually hit.
It is now being speculated that Syria is launching a missile attack against Israel in retaliation for the Israeli attack 90 minutes earlier . . .Add a comment
