I am 55 years old and I like to think of myself as being pretty-much up to date with things political, social and cultural.

With respect to music, having been born in 1962 I grew up in the 1970's, survived Disco, and came of age in the 1980's - when Rock peaked and the songs spoke about things we all live through.

So why is it that I have experienced, for the first time in my life, a complete and total disconnect when it comes to the "performance" by Justin Timberlake during the Halftime Show at the Super Bowl?  I mean, I just don't get it -- at all.  What, exactly, __was__ that . . . thing . . . I watched and heard?

OMG. AM I getting old?

Maybe some of you can explain it to me.  What was he singing about?  Or was he singing at all????

Yes, there was certainly showmanship with fast choreography.  Lots of flash and glitter.  But what the hell did he "sing" about?

Some folks are saying there were problems with the audio at the show.  Maybe that's it.

I know my hearing isn't what it used to be and I often find myself straining to actually discern what someone is speaking about.  But this "performance' left me completely perplexed.  What __was__ that?

In case you missed it, here's the video.  I watched it again -- twice.  And for the life of me, I just don't get it.  What the hell was that "performance?"
