An electric power outage struck the grid in southern California last night. Power is now back but no one knows WHY the power went off! Iran? Sleeper Cells?
The outage started ~7:41 PM PDT on March 26 (Thursday evening) in North San Diego County (Carlsbad, Encinitas, Escondido areas) and South Orange County.
Peak impact: over 100,000 customers. The map below shows the affected areas:
Fully restored by ~8:56 PM. San Diego Gas & Electric says cause unknown, still investigating.
