As of 7:45 PM eastern US Time on Sunday, January 4, 2026, the (paper) futures market for silver is rising substantially - again.
As of this minute, Silver futures are showing value of $4.83 per ounce. The price is seeing high volatility and is changing minute by minute.
This rise in price comes despite CLAIMS over the holiday weekend that some $5 BILLION in PAPER Silver was to be intentionally "sold" this week, to crush the price of Silver. But even if the PAPER silver market does what is being talked about, it will have ZERO effect on the physical metal price in Shanghai.
Shanghai is trading silver at around $80 per ounce because physical demand is outstripping physical supply. THe PAPER market cannot print Silver metal. They can print paper contracts to manipulate the paper price, but the underlying shortage of Silver will not be ignored by the physical market.
This is the week when the world may see actual Bifurcation: a permanent split between the "PAPER" Silver markets of the West, versus the physical Silver markets in the East. The physical will always win over the paper.
It appears this week is going to be a wild ride in markets.
