Metropolitan Capital Bank and Trust in Chicago, IL collapsed yesterday, January 30, 2026, and was closed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
Subsequently, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) was named as "Receiver."
All Deposit Accounts, excluding certain Brokered Deposits, were transferred to First Independence Bank of Detroit, MI.
According to a Financial Analyst, ALL Banks are now in big trouble and Depositors are in "actual danger."
