CENTCOM Reveals Firepower Now in Middle East

United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has revealed the Naval firepower it now has in the Middle East.

Three carrier strike groups are in the Middle East for the first time since the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.

The USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), and USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) are now all operating in the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) area of responsibility, as tensions between the U.S. and Iran move closer to the threshold of a resumption of open conflict.

Per a CENTCOM release, the combined deployment consists of 15,000 Marines and sailors.
