Yesterday, January 14, 2026, US forces that had already taken off from Al Udeid base in Qatar (the largest US military base in the region) were recalled and remain on alert.
Iranian airspace, which was closed to most civilian flights for several hours due to concerns about escalation, was subsequently reopened.
According to sources, Trump told advisers that he would only approve military action if it produced a clear and decisive result - ideally the collapse of the Iranian regime. However, US officials have warned that one or more waves of airstrikes will not guarantee regime collapse. Iran has deep bunkers, an extensive network of proxy forces and an aggressive retaliatory doctrine. Moreover, the US currently does not have sufficient capabilities in the region (especially missile defense and rapid reinforcements) to fully handle a possible major Iranian retaliation against bases like Al Udeid.
DIPLOMATIC BOMBSHELLS
What __really__ tipped the scales into stopping the attack was the arrival of two, separate, Diplomatic Couriers at the White House; one with an official Diplomatic Communique from China, the other with Diplomatic Communique from Russia.
Long story short Russia and China made it clear to the U.S. that any attack on Iran would be treated as the start of a World War III.
After receiving blunt briefings from his own diplomats, who warned this could be the first real step toward global conflict, Trump backed off and called off the strike on Iran.

If not triggered by Ukraine, then triggered by Iran, or perhaps triggered by Taiwan . . . . the world is fed-up with us. The world understands that the US Government only respects force and sooner or later, that is what one or more of those countries is going to HAVE TO use to convince the US to stop bullying the world.
It is hard for me to convey in words, how serious our situation actually is. The US Government is in absolute DENIAL that their actions have come to a point where anyone "would dare" fight us.
The U.S. has abused so many countries, for so long, that they are ready to step-up against us.
So many people think my urging people to "get prepped" is "click Bait" or "doom porn." It isn't. We are so close to actual catastrophe, it's hard to describe.
