At about 9:30 PM EDT tonight, US Strategic Command transmitted a rare 21-character Emergency Action Message (EAM) over the US military High-Frequency Global Communications System (HFGCS).
The HFGCS is part of the network used to communicate with nuclear-capable bombers, subs, and missile Silo crews.
The messages are encrypted in such a way as to make them absolutely undecipherable; Only troops with access to pre-stored ORDERS locked inside Safes, can match the codes with the appropriate ORDER(s), then open the order(s), read it/them, and carry it/them out.
So there is no way any person outside the US Military can ever know what any message actually means.
BUT . . .
An Emergency Action Message (EAM) is Top Priority. Stop-everything-and-do-this-right-now.
So whatever is going on, the military already has orders for it.
I have a feeling it's gonna be a long night and a wild weekend. I'm thinking: Iran.
