My wife Phyllis and I just woke up; a very late sleep-in for us today. We NEVER sleep til 9:30 in the morning! Awoke to a crystal clear, bright blue sky and a fresh 2" layer of puffy, white snow. A perfect "clean slate" for the new Year!
Last night I was falling asleep BEFORE midnight. My son, Michael, came in and said "Dad, it's 11:35 you gotta stay awake." I told him I would.
He came back into the bedroom with four minutes to go and said "Dad, there's only four minutes to go!" I got up.
We tuned-in to WCBS-TV in New York City for the Times Square festivities. Did the countdown and saw the New Year in.
Turned my cellphone off. Kissed my family good night, and straight to sleep I went.
Woke up around 9:30 this morning.
Haven't slept like that in YEARS!
