I have not been up to this home in rural Pennsylvania for 47 days. My Kia K-5 and GMC Sierra 3500 AT4 have been up here all that time because I had the snow plow pick up truck at my New Jersey home.
Naturally, I ran both vehicles today because they haven't run all that time. Even though they both had 3/4 or so tank of fuel, I took each one to gas-up.
I usually only put 86 Octane in the Kia because it's new (2025) only has about 6700 miles on it, and runs fine on that.
Because it sat here unused for 48 days, I figured I would put super unleaded, 93 Octane in it, to up-charge the remaining fuel. I paid $3.27 per gallon for 93 Octane.
I took the GMC Sierra for Diesel. It took about 9 Gallons at $4.07 per gallon.
So $3.27 for 93 gasoline and $4.07 for diesel.
We routinely pay more up here because it is a rural area. It ought to be interesting to see what the price of fuel does now that Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz.
I suggest that all of YOU gas-up your vehicles today, too. No telling what the markets will do when they open tonight. I was told earlier today that gasoline could go up FIFTY PERCENT (50%) this week - but I'm not certain that's true.
