4:04 PM EDT -- Vice President JD Vance’s planned trip to Pakistan for peace negotiations has been put on hold.
This comes after Iran is reportedly refusing to agree to key U.S. demands and has not committed to attending the talks at all.
The entire effort is now thrown into uncertainty.
Iran Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said just moments ago:
"Blockading Iranian ports is an act of war and thus a violation of the ceasefire.
Striking a commercial vessel and taking its crew hostage is an even greater violation.
Iran knows how to neutralize restrictions, how to defend its interests, and how to resist bullying."
