The real story about the NATO countries refusing to help the United States is not that they disagree with American policy. In fact, they’re very happy we’re eliminating Iran as a threat. They’re just afraid of all the Muslims they let in to their countries, so they won’t say it out loud.
The real story, however, is the fact that they don’t have a military that’s capable of performing the mission.
So next time some geebo from Denmark starts crowing about how they turned down their NATO ally, ask them what ship they could deploy to the Persian Gulf within one week that could conduct those operations.
You will never get an answer because the answer is none.
