Prominent China Weapons-Systems Experts "Disappearing" off Official Websites

A new mysterious story is unfolding in China around leading military industry experts.

The profiles of several high-ranking scientists involved in the development of strategic weapons have disappeared from the website of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Among them is one of the leading nuclear weapons experts, Zhao Xiangyang (72 years old), who previously served as the vice president of the academy. In addition, the pages of the well-known expert on radar systems, Wu Mengqin (60 years old), and the missile technology designer, Wei Yin (63 years old), have also disappeared from the official resource. It is not known exactly when this happened, but Chinese media have noticed the changes.

There have been no official explanations so far, which has only intensified speculation about what is happening.

The situation is of particular interest against the backdrop of recent events: just two months ago, the Chinese Defense Ministry announced an investigation into high-ranking military leaders as part of a large-scale anti-corruption campaign in the army.

It is noted that the disappearance of the profiles of key figures in military science may indicate internal checks, personnel reshuffles or more serious processes within the Chinese military-industrial complex. For now, there are more questions than answers.

Another line of thinking is also making the rounds: These "experts" were removed after Chinese Radar and Weaponry utterly failed in Venezuela and in Iran, when US military action struck both countries.

What China THOUGHT they had in terms of defenses, doesn't seem to work.
