UPDATED 2:05 PM EST -- Rubio to "Brief" House and Senate Leaders

Secretary of State Marco Rubio will brief House and Senate leaders, euphemistically known as "the Gang of Eight" today at 3:00 p.m. at the White House.

The topic at hand is currently unknown.

Rational people realize the topic will be Iran and a now-seemingly-likely U.S. military attack upon that country.

Hal Turner Snap Analysis

From the beginning of the US military build-up in the Persian Gulf area, I have pointed out that:

  • Iran has NOT attacked the United States
  • Congress has NOT declared war or issued an Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF)
  • The United Nations Security Council has no resolution authorizing force.

Today's meeting between the Administration (via Rubio) and the leadership of both Houses of Congress, deals with that legal issue.

Once the Congressional Leadership is briefed, I suspect Hostilities to commence almost immediately.  As in "tonight."

Of course, I may be wrong, but the Administration telling Congress what's going to happen is the surest sign (in my mind) that things are about to explode in the Middle East.

Once they tell Congress, it is almost imperative that operations commence immediately because Congress "leaks like a sieve" and the info is almost guaranteed to leak.

It appears to me that all hell is about to break loose.

UPDATE 2:05 PM EST --

CIA Director John Ratcliffe will join Marco Rubio for a 3 p.m. Iran briefing to lawmakers.
