Slovakia Cuts Off Electricity Supplies To Ukraine

Last week, Ukrainians shut down the pipeline supplying oil to Slovakia and Hungary.

Prime Minister Robert Fico of Slovakia informed Ukraine that unless the Druzhba Oil pipeline was re-activated, Slovakia would cease providing emergency electricity to Ukraine.

Ukraine told Fico that they will not allow the flow of Russia oil to anyone.

Fico replied that his is a landlocked country without seaports to bring oil in, and without oil, his country will cease to function.

In spite of this, the Druzhba-1 station at Kaleikino, the key node of the Druzhba oil pipeline, was blown up yesterday, by Ukraine:

It accounts for 86% of Hungary's oil consumption - and ~100% of Slovakia's oil consumption

Ukraine failed to restart the pipeline, and in fact, blew it up, so Slovakia has terminated electricity to Ukraine.

A Hungarian cutoff of electricity will probably follow.
