My son and I went out to snow plow at abut 9:00 PM last night. The storm was fierce. Heavy, HEAVY snowfall. The roads were quite difficult, but the plows were out and had been out, so it was passable, but at very slow speed. There was over a FOOT of snow when we headed out.
As we went about the contract plowing, the storm got noticeably worse. The winds came. Really strong winds.
For a brief two seconds, on the Staten Island Expressway, we found ourselves in an actual white out!
It was only a couple seconds, but WOW - couldn't see even three feet in front of the truck! Thank God there was mostly nobody else on the road.
We finished up the plowing on Staten Island and headed home. Did a local hotel (again) when we got back, and got into the house here at home around 1:00 AM. Went to sleep at about 2:00.
Woke up about 7:50 AM and took a look at in our backyard/courtyard; a picture of it is atop this story. There must be two and a half, maybe three FEET of snow atop the shed roof and picnic table!!!!! Oh, an it is STILL showing fiercely ! ! ! ! ! !
Below is the local weather radar showing the ENTIRE state of New Jersey is still full covered by the ongoing storm:
Heading out to do more plowing. Will be out working for hours, so no site updates until I return. SNow is supposed to continue until about 2:00 PM this afternoon.
