Well, a few things have happened in the background to make today's move concerning. One is, for around the last year, the Treasury has had to sell up to 80+% of their debt as short-term T-Bills ( Piepenburg, 01Apr24 ). This is a no-confidence vote by the bond buyers, i.e.,"we don't believe you have a credible long term, so we ain't investing there". One other important fact is the U.S. debt/GDP ratio is 120%, and growing fast. This fact becomes crucially important as the bond market realizes that GDP ( gov/t. spending + consumer spending+ cap. exp.+ net exports ) is a phony-baloney number that can be manipulated at will by government spending. The thinking is coming around to be, that the ratio of debt to what the U.S. actually produces ( that is, actual physical product ) is becoming sky-high. I have seen a lot of essays and treatises on that in the last few months. In other words, GDP is a meaningless subterfuge to mask a vastly shrinking real economy, and bond investors realize this. And attempting to keep the deception going by deficit spending is making matters worse at historic rates, now.

Relatively speaking, the stock markets are nothing, the bond markets are everything when it comes to market indicators of the economy. We'uns are fast wading into chest-deep waters of currency credibility loss. The T-Bond and T-Bill markets are screaming this more than ever before.

Treasury having trouble selling worthless paper. Jay and the Fed goons will need to print more to purchase the worthless paper and hold down rates. Currency devaluation results in increased inflation and dollar devaluation. Hyperinflation and shortages/rationing coming soon accompanied by global conflict. Prepare if you are able.

Just let it rip. I wish it would just happen already and stop all of the talk and this and that, just go already.

I pretty much agree, Gunner. We've been hearing "any day now" for months ... maybe years. I hate war and all the rest, but if it's inevitable, then let's just get it over with. Hopefully, the survivors will learn something, the bad guys will be removed, and there will be something left to rebuild.

According to Bible prophecy, that seems to be God's plan. I'm right with God. Let's get this party started.
