BREAKING: PRESIDENT DEFINES HOUSES OF WORSHIP AS "ESSENTIAL" SAYS HE WILL "OVER-RIDE" GOVERNORS WHO DO NOT COMPLY
14 Comments

President Trump this afternoon held an "urgent" press conference at which he announced his decision about Houses of Worship.   The President defines houses of worship as "Essential" and urged Governors to immediately allow them to open for congregants.

President Trump went on to describe how Americans of many faiths worship God as part of their daily lives, and this is essential to the health of the country.

He told Governors to make certain all houses of worship are allowed to open and congregants allowed to attend.  Trump then said bluntly, the he would "over-ride" any Governor who fails or refuses to comply.

I called my church in CA and they said they had no idea when they were going to reopen because they have not received instruction to reopen from CA governor. They know about Trump's announcement but they still need to wait for the governor, they said.

Dictatorial power, to the morally and spiritually rudderless, must be greatly intoxicating.
That being said, absolute power, isn't easily relinquished. Not easily given up.
Some government dictators are certain balk at Trump's dictum.
How the President will obtain compliance.
It might look like the POT smoker with a newly discovered 27% THC POT, being told to get rid of it.

Given that this outbreak, as bad as it was, was not nearly as bad as the projections expected, it might be perfectly rational to decide ahead of time that in the event of a second wave, God forbid, there will not be a renewed shut-down.

Remember that Europe is not America, so I simply have to look at the practicalities and conclude that the lockdown was in itself not a mistake. However, I think we are soon at a point where a continued lockown would be worse than the disease and should therefore be lifted. Germany remains a very good country in which to live, but it is not a principled country by any means. With that in mind, I feel very fortunate that the lockdown measures I have faced have not been far more draconian. There would have been no constitutional obstacles in the way of such having happened.

It's going to be very interesting how this order is carried out, and what resistance might greet it. Now, what about the deranged, alien-looking, lesbian, Mayor of Chicago who has a pathological hatred of God? Will she refuse? What about the nut-case Gov. of Michigan? And what about the fruitcake dictator Governor of New Jersey? These tidbits of kinky lunacy all said, very plainly, "Not Opening Till Vaccine."
    Will they defy Trump?

I just watched this press conference and I say Amen, thank you President Trump for doing this. Why? Because what has been going on in this regard was not right, not at all.

People cry about how The Constitution is seldom adhered to and then try to apply it where it does not belong. The Constitution for these united States is simple and straight forward. "If it's not there, then it cannot be done." It restricts the government to it's confines.

Does this document give Trump the authority to carry out these claims, upon a free and independent State?

A free and independent state, ostensibly deriving its authority from the very people within, surely cannot have a mandate to limit the freedom and independence of the very people from whom it derives its authority.

Passed by Congress September 25, 1789. Ratified December 15, 1791
      The First Amendment
"...Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF is the catch. But we are in a fascist lock down. Interested in seeing who cries out against this first. NJ gov, MI, gov, CA gov etc.

This is a classic Trump sneaky maneuver. Yes, we want people to be able to go to church, but yes, it will accelerate the 2nd wave of the coronavirus that the establishment will blame on Christians. Yes, we want governors to classify churches as essential, but yes, overriding governors by the president is in violation of the 10th amendment of the Constitution:

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

What Trump is Trump really doing here?

I saw 12th Amendment trending on Twitter for this reason. Not that I'm familiar with the later amendments, but that's what they found to complain about Trump. But I agree that this is a classic covert maneuver by Trump, that only appears to support Christians. But it really does set Christians up to be the fall guy when the next planned 2nd wave is perpetrated. It also sets up churches as worship centers for the antichrist. Too many people assume that churches are Christian, but most modern-day churches are ripe to be taken over for worship in the beast system. The only churches I trust are the ones defying the governors' orders & it seems it's only the Baptists that have any guts anymore.

That is going to happen no matter what. Any chance the media and academic elite to smear Christians, they will take it.

The churches over here have been open the entire time under certain provisos, namely, people need to be spaced apart (only one person, couple or family in each pew). As you enter, you need to disinfect your hands, no hymnals are handed out (no singing except for by the priest). As well, you need to go online onto the church webpage and sign up to indicate you are coming since space is limited. In order to accommodate the greatest number of people possible, there are 3-4 masses per day, not just one. If you show up without having signed-up you will likely be turned away since all of the allotted spaces will be taken up. Of course, you need to wear a mask over your mouth and nose.

Now, this has worked quite well and until last week churches have not been known to be a place where new infections occurred. However, the media made no mention of this being an example of a successful partial step toward returning to normalcy.

Of course, last week there was one and only one Baptist church (Baptists being a very, very small minority in Berlin), who was sloppy and did not carefully keep to the above measures - and predictably, at least a few people got sick. So what do you think was splashed all over the newspapers? "Church hot-spot of new corona infections".

That is the media for you. They are a bunch of Leftist dissemblers who are out to smear the Christian faith. Not all religion, mind you. These same papers praise the Muslims for how well they have handled the crisis during Ramadan.

Let me remind you it was President Trump who declared a national emergency over the coronavirus and effectively suspended the Constitution.

No offense- but why should we thank him for what should never have been touched in the first place? That's one reason we are here- the US is generally a nation of pampered pansies, unfortunately.
