One of tonight's callers said that there is a law from the late forties & early fifties that states that if after 48 hours no agreement has been reached, then the army can intervene to run the railroads.
I've been thinking that maybe there's a possibility that that's the plan.
The required 48 hours end at midnight this Saturday. Then on Sunday Brandon can declare that the Army is taking control of the railroads because of the danger of nationwide collapse.
Usually one could expect the government to return the railroads to private ownership as soon as normalcy was reestablished, but with brandon being a communist, maybe the plan is to simply keep them under the control of the feral government.
They would be the best way to exercise total control over all of society because any State that gets out of line can be immediately brought to its knees by holding back all railroad deliveries. It would do no good whatsoever for that State's government to take over the railroad lines that run through the state because what matters is what's being transported in the trains themselves, and the feral government would simply reroute the trains loaded with goods elsewhere.
If this is the plan, then by Monday all the railroads may end up having been taken over by the feral government under the pretext of "The Greater Good", and they won't be giving them back unless they're forced to "somehow."
Just a possibility maybe.
Here is the deal with this strike, its not just the conductors, or engineers or the brakemen, its every working part of the RR! The maintenance men, the dispatchers, the rail crew express drivers, the loaders and un loaders of the trains and i found out last night that this strike is going into the dock workers.
Finish your preparing by tomorrow night. Pray for yourselves, loved ones and the unsaved. Prayers for all of us. Be safe out there.

I've been a CPA for 30+ years and have lots of exposure to unions. My dad was in one when he worked for Illinois Bell/AT&T. Before they screwed him I already knew how bad they are. My dad wasn't like that. I never heard him complain about his job/wages/conditions/etc. Thank God! I would have had to give him a lecture. lol
The thing that confused me in the article was them saying that they've extended talks through 9/29. With 'extended talks' does that push the day of the strike to begin then or are they still planning to strike on the 16th and continue bargaining or has the strike been delayed to 9/29? That is where I'm confused. Thanks for any clarifications you can add.
Recently, a very large refinery in Texas had negotiations go on for more than 6 months with the threat of a strike happening every two weeks...this is business as usual for them and a WEAPON that they hold over their employers head like an axe. It is also a very large reason why so many companies move overseas where they can be productive and prosperous. Yes, I know there are some positives for the workers but over all, unions are outdated and uber-corrupt. My guys get good pay, a safe work environment, a contributing 401, health benefits and a stress-free work workplace. 25 years of the military taught me to take care of your people above all!
Many railroad positions are historical and have no real relevance in the 21st century.

IAM District 19 Members Vote to Reject Freight Rail Agreement
WASHINGTON, Sept. 14, 2022 – Approximately 4,900 members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) District 19 have voted to reject the Tentative Agreement with the National Carriers’ Conference Committee (NCCC).
IAM District 19 released the following statement:
“The Tentative Agreement has been rejected and the strike authorization vote was approved by IAM District 19 members. Out of respect for other unions in the ratification process, an extension has been agreed to until Sept. 29, 2022 at 12 p.m. ET. This extension will allow us to continue to negotiate changes with the NCCC in the hopes of achieving an agreement our membership would ratify.
“IAM freight rail members are skilled professionals who have worked in difficult conditions through a pandemic to make sure essential products get to their destinations. We look forward to continuing that vital work with a fair contract that ensures our members and their families are treated with the respect they deserve for keeping America’s goods and resources moving through the pandemic. The IAM is grateful for the support of those working toward a solution as our members and freight rail workers seek equitable agreements.”
IAM District 19 represents Locomotive Machinists, Track Equipment Mechanics and Facility Maintenance Personnel at NCCC freight rail carriers.

Looks like it… congress will just put us back to work… we’ll see… no one knows what either side will do… but yes we are going on strike.

More time off… this new availability policy that the company has imposed, is over 90% availability… it equals to roughly 1 sick day a month… that’s insane considering I don’t have any scheduled days off, being on call 24/7… it’s actually not about the wages this time… the company took the recommendation from the presidential emergency board which gave us a fair raise in my eyes… it was the uncapping of the insurance (amount we pay) and the availability policy and some other issues that need to go… I’ll send you an interview that the guy that runs a railroad site on Facebook was on this morning… the company has until 23:59 tomorrow to accept.

The local giant Sun Products factory, lots of chemicals arrive daily to make Snuggle, Sun detergents, dryer sheets, dish liquid, dishwasher detergent, Costco detergent is made there. When they run out only what little that semi trailers can bring will be produced. Some will just shut down because added cost of alternate shipping methods eats profits.

This is a very big deal.
What I see as a big possibility is suddenly everything becoming nationalized. This would be the perfect fit for a train strike.
Nationalizing the country seems to be a quick and easy way to destroy all of us.
Do I think the upper echelon of railroad executives have been let in on the game? Yes. I do believe that they have been told if they play along they’ll have a part in this new post freedom America. Besides, if they can figure out a way to run these trains with illegal aliens etc. etc. that are willing to work for pennies on the dollar all the better. And yes, everyone commenting on here about the amount of items you never think about that move via rail. They are 100% correct. If they want to break the backbone of this country, figure out a way to shut down the nations rail service. There is simply put, absolutely no way to move that amount of inventory via truck or any other means. We will grind to an absolute and utter stop.
