I am at the bugout location in PA using the new satellite uplink. Not nearly as fast as home, but it works.

One of the lessons of rural living I have learned Hal, living the the midst of a large Amish settlement, is that we know NOTHING at all of the needed skills and we had better get on learning them ASAP. Your wife probably can 't even can food. (a child's skill) She has no clue as to how dangerous her ignorance is to the survival of her family.

As far as Hal's situation, keep yourself safe.
It means that all discussions here should be continued not along the lines of how "I am going to get of the city next year because I have my EMP protector in my vehicle". You should be by now in your bug out location just like Hal or me! If your spouses have been Bettyfriedenized, at this point it is their own problem and they need to know they will be on their own!
The original meaning of the word "renegade" was someone who reneged on his/her faith in favor of accepting another faith; more specifically someone who reneged on Christianity in order to become muslim.

Now for this story and Hal's previous remember based upon Hal's intel of the past 4-6 weeks that some unpleasant things were likely to start. Well that time period is now or on or about now. Remember those articles of a the British/NATO aircraft carrier battle group going to the Aegean Sea some weeks back. Well its now in the eastern med. Its been reaffirmed at least 2 NATO ships of that group are going through the Bosporus into the Black Sea. Remember 2 USN destroyers were going to go through to the Black Sea but USN told them to stand fast and hover in the northern Aegean well they went through. There was an incident with Russian forces where they were harassed soon as they hit open sea. Further to that we know a USCG cutter(Hamilton) is in the Black Sea being shadowed by Russian missile cruiser Moskva. NATO is pushing for the excuse, the reason, any reason to start something. I mentioned it before of those 2 destroyers could be sacrificial lambs. However they delayed their entrance & they would put up a fight. But a USCG cutter with only minimal defensive weapons wouldn't last more than minutes if attacked by a missile cruiser as well as land and air launched rockets. In the fog of war in light of the Malaysian Air incident it's plausible Ukraine fires rockets from the LOC blames the other side and well we know what would happen at lightning speed. Its the perfect lamb to the slaughter.
Bottom line between this article and last one perhaps Hal is trying to tell his readers something without saying it. Because as much as he probably disagrees with what the troops are doing. He at the same time wouldn't put them in any further danger revealing something. Just some thoughts to ponder.

Many of the modern prophecies or visions have stated that when the invasion comes, people will be caught entirely off guard. When the invading troops roll in, the people will literally be inside restaurants, or stores, going about their own lives.
When that happens, there will literally be no time left to "bug out." Either you are out before then, or as they say, "forever hold your peace".
If there are people in your life that "just don't get it" and you don't feel that it's morally correct to leave them to their own devices, at least have a plan for how you can all try to get back home when the city/town/etc. is being overrun, because every exit out of town will be blocked and leaving will not be an option any more.

For decades TV and movies have portrayed the husband as the bumbling oaf. Fred Flintstone and Al Bundy are a couple examples. Making the woman out to be the smart half has helped the feminist movement but done serious damage to families.

The American wives are products of TV. In a way we can’t blame them. All we husbands can do is do our best to provide for and protect the families we have. When it hits the fan, hopefully they’ll see we weren’t so crazy after all.

I have come to believe that the proper translation of the original quote " Pillar of Salt"
should read she was vaporized by the blast that leveled the cities of Sodom & Gamorah after she
turned back because of the ruggedness ( i.e. bugs and insects ) of the trail that led to the safety in the mountains. Most westeners men & women alike will die for comfort over a meager yet spiritual existence.
