My mom has been released from the hospital and is here at my house with us for a few days to recover.
She had surgery for axillary femoral bypass to restore blood flow to both her legs.
Clogged arteries had reduced the flow so badly, she was in danger of losing both legs.
Thankfully, the surgery went well and full blood flow is confirmed in both legs, all the way to her toes!
She's sore at the incision sites (3) and still has wound sponges, which should be removed this Wednesday.
But she walked out of the hospital under her own strength when released this afternoon, and walked to my car about 100 feet away. No pain as she previously would have encountered from her leg muscles as they struggled without proper oxygen.
So mom will be here for a few days . . . then home to Pennsylvania, mission accomplished.
Thanks to all of you for your support and prayers during this stressful time.
