No Debt Deal Yet - Biden Set to Leave DC tonight

As of 8:05 AM EDT- there is still no deal to raise the US Debt Ceiling.  VERY conflicting reports coming out of DC this morning; some say a deal is "close" while others say there's little to no movement by either the President or Congress.

Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen is allegedly saying today that the US Gov't can make it until June 9 before actually defaulting.   Interesting how, for weeks, she's been saying "June 1" and now, all of a sudden, the date gets moved to June 9.   Tells me this is all "theater."

When you take a moment to stop and actually think about it, they need to BORROW money, to pay the loans for what they've already BORROWED!   The whole thing is absurd.

Since no one in their right mind is buying their debt, the phony "Federal Reserve" which is neither "federal" nor a "reserve" buys the debt using phony money created out of thin air via computer entry, and the whole shebang keeps rolling on.

This truly has become a circus and the elected politicians in Washington DC are the clowns.

It's all a huge con job, Ponzi schema. Tell them to kiss your ass. Andrew Jackson fought this. Now it's our time.

The death of USA is Fed reserve. Always has been. Wake up and do something about it.

The "Law" and the "rules" matter now? In case no one has noticed, laws and rules are now considered guidelines and suggestions to be interpreted in any way the clowns desire. If not, they just change the rules or amend the so called law.

These days, many government agencies such as the FBI, CIA, DOJ etc. just ignore and flaunt the law. Laws, rules and regulations are for the little people not for the so called "public servants" who now will decide what truth you will believe and what facts you will ignore.

If you look at the national debt you'll notice a whole bunch of it is 'intergovernmental borrowings'. This is bureaucrat speak for 'Hey, let's steal from social security, medicare, etc. and put an IOU in their account'. Then they shine us with this crap that it's not a big deal because we owe it to ourselves. These programs are mandatory so they're not entitlements - they're taxes. Words do mean things.

I don’t know how to vet it but I read a statement somewhere that the “debt ceiling” SHOULD be reached in June, but it officially has to be completed by July or absolute shutdown.
As for 1 of your commenters on a different info post…I agree with that person, S.S. Is NOT an entitlement. Each person that has contributed to it and is retired has that coming back to them even if only a small fraction. “Entitlement is those that are receiving and HAVENT contributed

You are ENTITLED to social security because you paid in.

If you receive benefits to which you are not entitled for some legitimate reason... that is WELFARE.

The confusion is one of many of our big problems. Words mean things.

Quoting standingwave:
Can you point to the phrase in the US Constitution supporting that?

Social Security benefits aren't in the Constitution. That being said, everyone who put their hard earned money into Social Security are the only ones entitled to receive it. Sadly, it appears that everyone who put their money into Security Security has fallen for the greatest ponzi scheme and psyop ever perpetrated on citizens of the United States.
