Receiving word from internal corporate and banking sources that the federal reserve's Automated Clearing House (ACH) system is OFFLINE today, Friday, August 23. No money is able to transfer from one bank to another via ACH; no money in, no money out.
This is being kept very quiet and no one is offering any details or explanation of why or how this happened.
SUGGESTION: Get to an ATM and see if you can get cash out to have "in case."
UPDATE 7:49 PM EDT --
I just went to a bank on Paterson Plank Road near my home in New Jersey and used an ATM. I WAS ABLE TO GET CASH.
I then went to an Exxon gas station to tank-up my car and WAS ABLE TO USE MY CREDIT CARD.
Whatever is going on with the ACH, apparently is having no effect on other financial systems.
