This is amazing. I never heard of such a thing. Rain causing landslides yes, but snow??? I mean the land is supposed to be frozen solid this time of year.

Maybe it was an earthquake????

How horrible. The whole neighborhood is now suspect.

Especially sad that it happened during the Christmas Holiday season.

Well Norway is a Socialist country, so their Big Brother Gov't will have to DO everything for these poor souls. I mean they do it for the African Muslim "refugees", they should AT least do it for those who Pay Taxes.

This phenomenon occurs in Sweden as well. Look up "quick clay", as opposed to quicksand, to get an explanation as to how this works. This particular incident seems to be at a much larger-than-usual scale, but quick clay landslides are familiar enough to Nordic people. They are very old remnants of the glaciation that once covered the land.

They are kind of unusual in how they work as they seem to run from the lower level to a higher level, as opposed to a snow avalanche.
