When the Soviet flag came off the Kremlin, and the Russian flag went up, that was the end of the Bolsheviks in that country.
So my support for Russia has nothing at all to do with Communism, nor does it make me a Communist sympathizer.
Communism runs contrary to the human spirit to be free. Communism runs contrary to the normal human desire to achieve.
It is a failed and terrible system, created by terrible people.

As far as "talking about yourself" I want to say that I do enjoy knowing some personal things about you....Just not in too much detail. Since many focus on the Breaking news it might be good to launch... out of the gait with a very concise list of what you will cover and then jump right in. Perhaps you could save the personal things to toward the end of the show. It is unique foe a radio host to share some things but briefly. That way we get the best of both worlds.
God bless. Over the months I have been noticing steady spiritual growth in you. Good job!

In addition to many of the insightful comments below, I find your descriptions of personal experiences in dealing with life very helpful in keeping me up on situations we all encounter now and then. This is especially true with regards to costs and interpersonal encounters. My Dad used to say, "boughten experience is the best kind", and in the case of your show, I get to have a little more of that experience vicariously !
Some of your more sardonic listeners who "pay for news" need to realize that not every day is a heavy news day ( thank God ! ). If I wanted daily news overload on frivolous, sensational, or peripheral news, just to fill space, I would go elsewhere. It is quality, not quantity; an obvious platitude to most of us.
Timing is everything.

Ha Ha! Probably a lot of younger readers won’t get the “Crocodile Dundee” reference… i.e. grab the crotch to see what’s there (or missing).
Today though that’s still not a 100% test. Check the forearms… most real women have slightly outward turned forearms starting at the elbow… presumably for reaching around when the belly is big with child. Seriously… check out photos of real women!
( Sorry, jebman, we're both gonna get nailed by the can't-comprehend-sarcastic-humor crowd. Just roll your eyes and go on. )
How you tackle all the "normal" tasks and produce the news and reviews just amazes me. We are very lucky to have such a dedicated person as a "watchman" and should give you full support.
We all need help and support from time to time, but you are having to operate alone, that takes a lot of courage and determination. Well done Hal, and thank you for all you do.
May God bless you and care for you and yours.
I think what I love most about you and your show is that I feel a great sense of connection with you. It is your personal stories, openess, raw emotions, and the way that you express yourself that pulls me in. I feel that you connect with your listeners (or at least with me) as if you were a friend sitting in my living room talking to me. I feel that you truly care about all of your listeners and that you have sacrificed a great deal for us all. A simple "Thank you" doesn't sound adequate for all that you have done but, here it is, Thank you, Hal.
I, for one, am not in the least interested in what the Kardashians are having for lunch but, alas, I am in the minority.
I do, however, find it endearing that Hal’s mother’s ruffled chintz curtains are still hanging in his home-based studio. To each his own….
As for your shows, they're all pretty awesome. You are tremendously appreciated.
It’s hard to get the real news. Your reporting is greatly appreciated.
You and your family is in our thoughts and prayers.
Here's a guy going out of his way to share his
life...with his listeners,
and some people are
uncomfortable with the gesture.
WOKE listeners.
Jerk listeners.
Hay, its an honor being included in Hal's life,
however vicariously.
I like the stories, I like the crazy roof stories.
And i was sad when Hal's mom died. I had just
lost my mom so I felt Hal's grief.
It's an honor.
Thank you Hal.
other world news. Also enjoy your talking
about your house and what goes on in
your life. Too much war news can get
heavy at times. The human interest stories
make for a well balanced program.
