Massive Explosion - St. Petersburg, Russia - At Nord Stream Gas Terminal

A very large and powerful explosion has taken place at the Nord Stream gas pipeline terminal in St. Petersburg, Russia. Visible flames and the roar of a major natural gas fire can be seen and heard for miles. Video Below.

No word yet on what exploded or why, but with the Ukraine situation, it isn't hard to guess.

UPDATE 9:48 AM EST --

We are now told the explosion took place in Vsevolozhsk, a town east of St. Petersburg. State media said that the explosion was caused by a gas pipeline in the region. There were no reports of injuries, and local authorities said that the fire was under control.

Whilst I don’t doubt either sabotage or Uke attack, a small part of me is wondering if it was intentional on Russias behalf. If they are preparing a massive offensive, this gives them a reason to stop all gas to Europe while they make “repairs”. After a month or more with no gas, they’ll be crippled beyond belief. If the US tries to make up the lost volume, it will do far more catastrophic damage to the US than has already been done in the last two or so years.

The Euro is dying, so Russia definitely doesn’t want them any more. Russia and China don’t want any more US dollars. Realistically, if Russia just leaves the flow of gas stopped, hunger, cold and energy starvation will defeat Europe and NATO without Russia ever firing a shot or losing a single soldier. I’d be willing to bet that Europe will very soon be willing to rethink their position on many issues for resumed gas flow. Possibly even to the point of giving up territory in exchange for guarantees on petroleum, natural gas, fertilizers, petrochemicals, grain, etc. I’d even be willing to bet that they would consider joining the BRICS banks.

The explosion could have easily been staged with little to no real damage done. Russian manufacturing is booming, the Ruble is still ridiculously strong, way stronger than usual. Russian trade is booming like never before. They have all the food, weapons, medicine, fertilizer, grain, etc. that they need. The west is dying, Russia and China are thriving.

To clarify, I have no idea what actually happened, but this is one crises that likely won’t be wasted, regardless of who actually caused it.

Hey this is the first mark on the calendar for december. Remember we had the october 24 nothing burgur and the ones in november never happened so here we go for december. My calendar has so many dates marked on it this last year from idiots making up dates out of thin air and NOT ONE thing happened except more attacks on Russia. These are daily events so no requirement for a calendar there. These dates are a joke. Russia aint gonna do anything in december or any other time for that matter. The Russians are masochists.
