The 28 days of the mandate given to Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to try to form a government have ended. Once again, Netanyahu is unable to get enough support in the Knesset, to form a governing coalition.
The President of Israel, Rivlin, will now begin consultations with the parties as to whom the mandate should be given to, now. One possibility is that Rivlin will give the mandate to Netanyahu's rival, Yair Lapid, or if the Mandate will simply be passed to the Knesset.
Israel has been unable to form a governing coalition for over a year despite several general elections involving voters.
