Reports are now coming in claiming Germany will ignore the Potsdam Agreement that ended World War 2, and allow German Leopard-2 Tanks to be transferred to Ukraine to fight Russia.

Ukraine’s supporters pledged billions of dollars in military aid to Ukraine during a meeting at Ramstein Air Base in Germany on Friday, though the new commitments were overshadowed by a failure to agree on Ukraine’s urgent request for German-made Leopard 2 battle tanks.
The issue appeared to move close to a resolution late Sunday when Germany’s top diplomat said her country would not object if Poland decided to send some of its Leopards to Ukraine.
French TV channel LCI posted clips from an interview with Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock in which she said her government has not received a formal request for approval from Warsaw but added “if we were asked, we would not stand in the way.”
Earlier Sunday, the speaker of the lower house of Russia’s parliament, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin, said that governments giving more powerful weapons to Ukraine could cause a “global tragedy that would destroy their countries.”
“Supplies of offensive weapons to the Kyiv regime would lead to a global catastrophe,” he said. “If Washington and NATO supply weapons that would be used for striking peaceful cities and making attempts to seize our territory as they threaten to do, it would trigger a retaliation with more powerful weapons.”

Perhaps it is useful to cut and paste or print and send to representatives in Washington and Europe, so that they realize that Russia did not want a conflict but would have preferred to sit down and write out some binding agreements that would have given them the same protection that the US wanted when the Cuban missile crisis occurred many years ago.

1990-Sep-12 The Zwei-plus-Vier-Vertrag regarding the reunification of Germany. Russia has stated since then that there were verbal agreements stating that along with the reunification of Germany that NATO would not move further than the Oder River aka the ‘not one inch further’ statements by Russia.
1990-1991 The former Soviet Union collapses.
1991 Belarus and Ukraine declare independence from the Soviet Union. Baltic states seek international recognition.
1996-1997 Russia with Vladimir Putin as president approached the USA, under Pres. William Clinton, and requested that Russia join NATO. Pres. Clinton ignored / rebuffed Russia. Nothing ever came of this.
2010’s Western countries begin giving aid to Ukrainian citizens via NGOs.
2014 USA approached Ukraine about joining NATO. And asked then Ukrainian Pres. Viktor Yanukovych if Ukraine would ally itself with the West. After discussions with his Ukrainian government, he got back to Europe and the USA and told them that Ukraine would stay allied with Russia.
2014 Upon receiving that answer the West caused those NGOs (previously mentioned) to stop handing out ‘aid’ money. So, the NGOs ceased handing out ‘aid’ money and told the people it was because their government did not want to ally with the West.
2014 The people of Ukraine then rose up against their elected government, and ejected it and caused their president, Viktor Yanukovych, to flee to Russia. The West then helped install a new government, with President Viktor Yushchenko, that was aligned with Western Europe and America.
2014 Also at this time, Crimea decided, via referendum, that they did not want to be subject to this new government in Kiev and seceded from Kiev and acceded to Russia. (Note that Crimea had been a part of Russia for at least 300 years prior to 2014.)
2014 Also around this time, the governments of Luhansk and Donetsk were deciding to break away from Kiev, and Kiev started to militarily attack Donetsk and Luhansk from the western border of these two states and this has continued since then. Over fourteen thousand military and civilian casualties occurred from 2014 to 2022.
2014-2015 The Minsk 1 and 2 Agreements were held in Minsk, Belarus to try and defuse the situation in the eastern part of Ukraine. Representatives from Russia, Luhansk, Donetsk, Ukraine (Kiev), and the OSCE signed the Minsk II Agreement. France and Germany were there to help negotiations. The agreements were signed 5 September 2015. Russia assumed these were valid agreements to be honored.
2021-Dec Russia approached Ukraine regarding Russia’s need for Legally Enforceable Security Guarantees regarding among other items Ukraine not joining NATO. This was also delivered to Washington, D.C., No. 10 Downing in the UK, Paris, and other European capitals.
The guarantees that Russia required were:
1) Recognize Luhansk and Donetsk as "Independent" within Ukraine Constitutional framework, AND;
2) Agree to not join NATO, AND;
3) Purge the government, police, and military of NAZIS.
Russia stated that if Russia cannot get this security guarantee diplomatically, they will obtain it via military and military technical means. This was rejected/ignored by the West and Ukraine.
2021-Dec Russia again approached the Western European countries, the United States, and Ukraine by direct courier delivery the same message requesting security guarantees along with the same statement regarding a military response if these guarantees cannot be guaranteed. This batch of diplomatic documents was again ignored or rebuffed.
2022-Feb-23 In the late hours of this day, Russia sent a communiqué (ultimatum) to Ukraine requesting that Ukraine agree to Russia’s prior security concerns and that Ukraine had five hours to provide a positive response or Russia would begin its military operation. Ukraine then forwarded the communiqué to the British Embassy and to the American State Department. The three had conferences by phone or video and the consensus was that Ukraine should "ignore the ultimatum" which Ukraine did. Two hours after that ultimatum expired, the Russian Army crossed Ukraine's border.
2022-Feb-24 The Russian Special Military Operation in Ukraine began.
2022-Dec The emeritus chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, admitted that the Minsk Agreements were signed with no intention of honoring them.
2022-Dec Der Spiegel in Germany found documents in the UK that confirmed what Russia had been saying all along regarding the promises of no eastward expansion of NATO.
2022 Dec The emeritus President of France, François Hollande, also admitted that the Minsk agreements were just a ruse to buy time for Ukraine to further militarize itself. The Western participants and Ukraine never had any intention of honoring the agreement.

For reference - the Minsk Agreements:
(1) Minsk I : Ukraine and the Russia-backed separatists agreed on a 12-point ceasefire deal in September 2014. Its provisions included prisoner exchanges, deliveries of humanitarian aid and the withdrawal of heavy weapons. However, the agreement quickly broke down, with violations by both sides.
(2) Minsk II : Representatives of Russia, Ukraine, the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the leaders of separatist-held regions, Donetsk and Luhansk, signed a 13-point agreement in February 2015. The leaders of France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine gathered in Minsk to mark the occasion and issued a declaration of support.
(3) The Minsk II Agreement’s 13 points were:
a. Immediate, comprehensive ceasefire.
b. Withdrawal of heavy weapons by both sides.
c. OSCE monitoring.
d. Dialogue on interim self-government for Donetsk and Luhansk, in accordance with Ukrainian law, and acknowledgement of special status by parliament.
e. Pardon, amnesty for fighters.
f. Exchange of hostages, prisoners.
g. Humanitarian assistance.
h. Resumption of socioeconomic ties, including pensions.
i. Ukraine to restore control of state border.
j. Withdrawal of foreign armed formations, military equipment, mercenaries.
k. Constitutional reform in Ukraine including decentralisation, with specific mention of Donetsk and Luhansk.
l. Elections in Donetsk and Luhansk.
m. Intensify Trilateral Contact Group’s work including representatives of Russia, Ukraine and OSCE.

1. You must confess and repent of all your past sins to your High Priest Jesus Christ, turn from them, change directions, make Jesus LORD of your life and be led by the Spirit of God. "As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God", Romans 8:14.
2. Ask the Holy Spirit to come into your heart and give you the power to follow Jesus and be led by the Holy Spirit.
When you sincerely do that you become born again, you become a new (spirit) creature, "old things pass away, behold, all things become new". (You are a spirit, you have a soul and you live in a body)
3. Tell Jesus, "I make you my Lord and Savior of my life. Help me to stop my sinful habits." Note: You are saved by grace but faith without works is dead. When you make Jesus Lord (Boss) of your life you must make a sincere effort to follow the leadings of the Holy Spirit, His directions. Keep in mine, "As many as are led by the spirit of God, they are the Sons of God". This does not mean you suddenly act just like Jesus but this puts you on a path to clean up your life.
For example, you may decide to stop using bad language, to stop calling people names, to forgive certain people who have hurt you or done you wrong in the past, to stop raising your voice when discussing things with family members or stop watching porn. You have a free will and ending bad character traits is a process that takes time. God looks at your heart and knows if you are sincere and want to be a better person, ie., stop sinning. If you are sincere, people will notice as will God.
There are much simpler explanations of salvation out there but we are talking about your eternity and there is no sinning in Heaven. Easy believism won't get you into Heaven or keep you out of Hell. God is very serious about sin. It's the reason the world has failed and is about to be judged. Put yourself in God's shoes and ask yourself, isn't God being reasonable? Sin must stop and it begins with each individual. God bless.
Dolph, I upvoted you because of your good explanation of the change of heart that being born again brings, contrasted against our own imperfection and a lifelong battle with our besetting sins.
HOWEVER, I agree with PastorK that your use of a human example, any human example, in making a point about easy believism was very clumsy. Neither you nor I can know any particular individual's heart. The point scripture makes about the fallen ones believing and trembling stands on its own. It applies to you and me just as much as to Hal or any other professing Christian. We are to use that verse to examine OURSELVES, and preach it so others will examine themselves !
I too thought Hal's testimony was sincere and heartfelt. There was love, joy, peace, and other fruits discernable in it. And that is all you, I, or anyone else can know about his heart. Only God knows his heart.
Other than your not thinking through your irresponsible first sentence, you made excellent points. But the first sentence was an unwarranted negative fruit on your part.
Most people believe they are good persons but have no idea there are over a thousand commandments in the N.T., don't love God with all their hearts, souls, strength and mind. They love the world but ignore God 24 x 7 until Sunday morning. They have no idea what a Christian world view is. Seventy percent of the pastors watch pornography. Come on man! Why do you think God is about to judge the world?
There are 60 million abortions in the world each day. Hal's explanation of salvation is exactly how most think and is a worldly explanation for not being led by the Holy Spirit, the definition of being a Christian. It's a spin on the truth, a satanic spin on the gospel message.
The Bible says the whole world is deceived. It's one thing to understand what is happening in Ukraine and quite another thing to understand what is unseen, to be led by the Holy Spirit who "explains all things and shows us things to come".
A true Christian doesn't get all upset about developments in Ukraine. I've been expecting this for 44 years, since I was born again. 20-30% of the Bible is prophecy. I am thrilled that Jesus will be restoring justice to this planet and that the insane spending on armaments, corruption and the rule of Satan will soon end. PTL!!
Salvation is so less complicated than you make it. Paul wrote 'If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you will be saved.'
Dolph, please take what you should have been said by Hal Friday night and toss it in the nearest trashcan! Hal's words were one of the most heartfelt professions of faith by a believer in Jesus that I have ever heard. Nothing more needed to be said by him.

Just preventing them from arriving in one piece will be half the fun for the Russians. They are already well into the process of destroying the rails and railheads and the larger airfields where giant transports can land. Is Poland going to drive them in ?? It's pretty hard to camo a Panzer which is charging across the landscape. Russia has satellites, too, and also controls the skies insofar as observational aircraft go.
Oh, and heavy-haul truck trailers ? Pretty hard to disguise the size of those, too, even if there are some arterial roads still open.
