The Russian Ministry of Defense is publicly reporting they have given an ultimatum to the remaining Ukraine troops holding-out inside Mariupol: They have until 9:00 GMT to lay down their weapons.

The Nazis in Mariupol (supported, unwaveringly, by US TAXPAYER-FUNDED weaponry and munitions -- against the will of a mass majority of Americans) have been given an ultimatum. The problem is that -- no matter whether they surrender, or get slaughtered -- it will expose the French, UK and US military commanders who are also holed up in Mariupol with them: the Nazis they have been secretly been giving instructions and guidance to since at least February.
Yes -- WITHOUT HAVING THE HONESTY, INTEGRITY OR BALLS to admit they really ARE conducting kinetic warfare against Russia: NATO has been using Ukraine in a proxy war against Russia for several months now.
What we are being told by mainstream media in the US, UK, EU and other NATO countries is PURE ANTI-RUSSIAN / PRO-WW3 PROPAGANDA.

When we pulled in there was me my wife and our friend David. We were in a small Tennessee Walmart cose to ky I had my cross leaning by our care with a sign your not alone and another said he died for you what have you done for him? Bunker busters would be the way the seal them in and bury them alive or dead.
If Russia has a plan or map of the bunker system under Azovstal they may have a good chance of completing the job.
The American engineers simply filled the entrances with concrete. They never attacked. After a bit the sentries could hear heavy jack hammering, then after weeks periodic hammer blows. Then silence. These sealed catacombs are war graves now. Not many people talk about it.
Ukraine then can make up any number they wish and either say nobody was in there because they all escaped or could say that 10,000 were in there and buried alive by the Russians and get more weapons deliveries from the West.
Either way Zelensky wins and the Ukrainian people lose.

Pre-war, Azovstal Iron & Steel produced 4 million tonnes of steel per year. It was one the largest (by volume) steel producing plants in Europe.
Both sides clearly wanted it as intact as possible.....which has dragged out the fighting there. Meanwhile, time has gone by, and the plant has slowly been reduced to rubble.
No one is getting it now. It's now just a fight for land.

I saw the pictures of the plant's insides. It appears to me to be rebuildable fairly well. The overhead cranes are intact. Ingot casting is very robust and would be hard to obliterate. Any roll stands are practically indestructible, but may need new controls and the like.
It looks like mostly fires and small bombs went off in there, wrecking all the lighter machines and controls and generally trashing the place, but it is very hard to demolish the basics of a steel mill. So, in my opinion, which is only from afar I realize, I think Russia may be taking the best compromise possible and destroying the plant's habitability while keeping it restorable.
