And after all this gets started and in motion (middle east, Ukraine, etc) we can expect China to move on Taiwan.

Subs are meant to be underwater! In international waters they are...so what's the big fuss about? Does the US not have subs?

Yeah it's probably sitting under a USS aircraft carrier by now.

No kidding - it COULD be under an aircraft carrier. The Chicoms actually did this when one of their diesel electric subs surfaced (previously undetected) near a carrier group - quite the embarrassment to the USN. I think we have to pull a line of microphones through the water behind a ship to detect them as they are so quiet when they run on battery power. Then they have to pay special attention to propeller noise. Nuclear submarines are quite noisy I understand - the nuclear reactor heats water to produce steam and the steam runs a steam turbine. I guess they could use Fourier noise cancellation to try to cover up some of the racket, and of course everyone has microphones on the ocean bed I have heard. None of this is classified.

+3 # Is attack on Israel by Iran also on the radar screens.Harnaś 2021-03-18 19:44
Russians are not looking for the Kilo-class submarine but we are looking for it, which means that is has fallen off the radar screen and was not sunk by us or Israel. Nuclear capable, it may be there to produce that chink in the Israeli armor that Iran needs to launch its own nuclear attack from Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and Iran proper. Some very nervous generals in Haifa, Tel Aviv and Pentagon.

It may be also to Russia's advantage to have Iran start a nuclear exchange with Israel now, before WWIII to distract NATO from their concentration on Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk Republics and start Russian counterattack through Belarus, Kaliningrad and Poland. We have deducted years ago that this would most likely be the sequence. Israel-Iran nuclear war first, leading to WWIII very soon afterwards.

Isn't that what subs are supposed to do?
(Particularly when conflict may be looming)

This quiet peaceful world could
flip on it's ear overnight.

Shades of Red October! Could be sitting quietly on bottom... or... has this sub been equipped with Tom Clancy’s Caterpillar Drive?? If so, not good.

Ah yes, Tom Clancy. He is the only author I can think of for whom the movie is better than the book.

Loved that movie/book, maybe predictive programming? Except their not gonna give us the sub and it ends happily everafter.
