"E" practiced by the Catholic Church after Vatican II, as you can clearly see on this forum, there is very little to agree on with Protestants.
In fact, in Germany after Vatican II, all four thousand Lutheran denominations after being wined and dined by the German Catholic Church agreed finally to sit down with top hierarchy in the German Church. After decades of regular meetings and formal talks, the two sides have not moved one millimeter closer towards one another. Why? The two Churches are so diametrically different that after 50 years of talks they have not found a single bridge that can cross the enormous gap between the Catholic Church and the said 4000 Lutheran denominations. Not a single bridge in 50 years!
I believe that the stand-off on this forum is consistent with what they discovered in Germany, namely that there is really not a single thing we can agree on! For instance, Catholic and Protestant Jesus Christ are two completely different and incompatible entities. One is a Holy God from the time before time, the other Jesus is in the process of "becoming a God" through his contact with the world (and cycling requiring him to become Satan before he can advance another step towards "Holiness"). Would you be kind enough to reread the original Luther's writings with which no one on this forum is familiar with. I had already talked in detail about this and do not have the time to go back to this, since I have a life outside this forum.
