UPDATED 6:41 AM EST (WED) SEE BOTTOM --  A fighter jet from the India Air Force (IAF) is "down" in Kashmir.  The jet hit the ground at Garend Kalan village in Budgam district of Central Kashmir.  UPDATE: PAKISTAN FIGHTER JETS ENTER INDIA AIR SPACE (SEE BOTTOM)

No word yet on whether or not the jet simply crashed or was shot down.  REPEAT: NO WORD ON HOW THIS HAPPENED.

The photo above is from locals in the area where the India Air Force Fighter Jet went down.  THEY claim this photo is of a MISSILE TRAIL and that it was, in fact a missile which shot down the India Fighter Jet.

Now being told that TWO India fighter jets were shot down, One IAF went down in Indian territory, another in Pakistani territory. Two IAF pilots ejected in Pakistani territory, one of them apprehended by Pakistani army, another being hunted!!!

JUST IN Pakistan foreign office issues statement that Pakistan has conducted "strikes across Line of Control from within Pakistani airspace".

 

PAKISTAN MILITARY SPOKESMAN -- "In response to PAF strikes this morning as released by MoFA, IAF crossed LOC. PAF shot down two Indian aircraft inside Pakistani airspace. One of the aircraft fell inside AJ&K while other fell inside IOK. One Indian pilot arrested by troops on ground while two in the area."

8:33 AM EST -- Both India and Pakistani armies now exchanging heavy fire at multiple locations at Line of Control (LoC).

8:54 AM EST -- Indian and Pakistani armies exchanging heavy fire at Krishna Ghati and Mendhar sector of Poonch along LoC. There are also UNCONFIRMED reports of clashes breaking out at multiple other locations.

Intelligence sources confirm to me directly this morning that the internal deliberations in BOTH India and Pakistan have arrived at THIS:

"Our region doesn't need de-escalation. It needs a clear winner and for the other side to shut the fuck up for a hundred years."

So there you have it.  This is the internal "consensus" on BOTH sides.   This situation does NOT appear to be cooling off AT ALL.
