A gigantic construction crane atop a New York City skyscraper, has caught fire and collapsed onto the streets of Manhattan! Video below. As the crane collapsed, it struck a building across the street and did significant damage.
The crane is on a building under construction, located on 10th Avenue and West 41st Street. Officials say the building is about 40 stories high.
There were pedestrians on the streets below, and vehicular traffic on the roadways below, when the giant boom arm of the crane fell to the ground.
Unknown at this time how many (if any) injured or killed.
New York Fire Department and NYPD are on the scene.

A civilian and a firefighter were injured when the crane caught fire and collapsed in Manhattan Wednesday morning, officials said.
The five-alarm blaze broke out in a building at 550 Tenth Ave. between 40th and 41st streets in Hell’s Kitchen at around 7:30 a.m., according to the FDNY. The fire was under control by around 9 a.m., officials said.
The vacant building was under construction, according to the FDNY.
