Dangerous, multiday severe weather outbreak looms for a dozen states in central US

One of the most widespread severe weather events so far in 2024 will unleash tornadoes, hard-hitting hail and damaging winds across a dozen states starting on Thursday and continuing throughout the weekend.

A dangerous severe weather event will threaten millions across more than a dozen states in the nation's heartland, starting during the latter part of this week and continuing through the weekend. There is a significant risk to lives and property, AccuWeather meteorologists warn.

"All modes of severe weather are likely with the multiple-day event in the central U.S.," AccuWeather Chief On-Air Meteorologist Bernie Rayno said. "Two storms, off the Pacific coast on Tuesday, will swing across the West and cause moisture to surge northward from the Gulf of Mexico while, at the same time, temperatures surge."

The magnitude and location of the threats will vary daily, but the setup will allow severe thunderstorms capable of producing large hail, powerful straight-line wind gusts, flash flooding and tornadoes.

Well known Meteorologist, Dr. Reed Timmer, lays it out succinctly:

Folks in the areas shown are urged to be mondful of fast-developing weather conditions where they are, and to make certain you have "preps" for emergency food, water, medicine, flashlights, portable radio with spare batteries.  Gas-up the car(s) check the oil and fuel in your generator (if you have one) and be ready.   It looks like the central USA is in for a really bad bout of Tornadoes and Thunderstorms starting tomorrow - Thursday.

April into May Fund Raising

The final week of each calendar month, I reach out to readers like you to help keep the lights for this website and radio show.   It's a big endeavor and without YOU, it cannot go on.

Your Donations help pay for radio air time, six inbound phone lines for listener call-ins, Website hosting and data transfer, Fiber Optics, Cable modem, Satellite uplinks and cellular failovers in both Metro New York City and at the Bugout location in northeastern Pennsylvania.

They help pay for music licensing fees, software, new equipment and repairs as needed, and so forth.

It take a LOT of money and time to do this website and a radio show five nights a week.  All this is possible because of YOU.

This website has no ads.  The radio show has no paying commercials. All by design.  Advertisers don't like controversy, and telling the TRUTH, is now very controversial.  So rather than try to satisfy spineless advertisers, I boldly report the REAL news and REAL opinions, without fear of being driven out by the politically-correct tyrants.  But this is only possible because YOU help keep the lights on.
