Shots rang out just minutes ago in downtown D.C. Two THREE National Guardsmen are confirmed hit; one in the head.
Now the U.S. Treasury Building, the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, and other key sites are completely locked down.
Secret Service, Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), and every available unit are hunting the shooter.
Early reports indicate at least 2 uniformed National Guard troops were hit in the attack. One reportedly shot in the head, condition critical.
This happened literally a mile from the White House, in the heart of the capital these troops were deployed to protect.
Streets are sealed, helicopters overhead, K9 units sweeping, total war-zone posture.
This is what the Democrats have caused by telling people to go after ICE, go after Trump, and even go after the military.
UPDATE 4:04 PM EST -- Reports are now CLAIMING that two of the three National Guardsmen shot earlier today, have DIED.
Update 8:07 PM EST -- Governor Patrick Morrisey reports that two members of the West Virginia National Guard have passed away from their injuries after being shot in Washington, DC.
UPDATE 8:17 PM EST -- Afghan National, born in 1996, armed with a revolver ambushed a female guardsman, shooting her in the head, and a male guardsman, shot multiple times. They never saw it coming. Both guardsmen were armed.

A Major in the National Guard, who was unarmed and doing his spot checks of the guardsmen was in the block, heard the shots and turned to see the shooter who spotted him. He took cover behind a truck. The suspect came for the Major who pulled out his pocket knife, and bravely took on the suspect who was reloading his revolver. The Major began stabbing the suspect in the head.
Another guardsman in the area who was armed, them drew his pistol and shot the suspect twice, once in the leg and once in the buttocks.
The Major stated that when the suspect began shooting he heard him shout, Allahu akbar!”
I just briefed [omitted]. Now, you know too."
There’s more: we are trying to confirm if the suspect, an Afghan national was an interpreter brought over by Biden, because he has a Department of Defense record. Again, we are trying to confirm. The suspect has a home address in Washington State.
Initial word is that this man was allowed into the US as part of the botched Biden withdrawal from Afghanistan.

"The suspect waited for the guardsmen to turn a corner before opening fire. He only had four rounds, but managed to hit the female guard in the chest.
He then approached her, took her weapon, and shot her point-blank in the head.
Using her firearm, he continued shooting at the other guardsmen, hitting one in the neck, until a third guard engaged and subdued him."

SUSPECTED DC SHOOTER SERVED ALONGSIDE U.S. SPECIAL FORCES IN AFGHANISTAN FOR 10 YEARS
A close relative of suspected shooter Rahmanullah Lakanwal claims he served in the Afghan Army for a decade alongside U.S. Special Forces before coming to America. The relative told reporters Lakanwal was stationed at a base in Kandahar and arrived in the U.S. in September 2021 after the Taliban took over.
He eventually settled in Washington state.
"We were the ones that were targeted by the Taliban in Afghanistan. I cannot believe it that he might do this." The relative, who also served supporting U.S. troops and was injured in uniform, said Lakanwal has a wife and five sons. They haven't spoken in several months. "I don't know what happened," the relative said, breaking down in tears. "I need your help to know why this happened."
