UPDATED 3:36 PM EST -- Have Lost Electric Power Here at Pennsylvania Home

It snowed on and off all night up here in northeastern PA; switching several times between snow and rain.  Soggy mess, but NOT a lot of accumulation. Only 1" or so right now.  At 10:37 AM EST - we lost Grid Electric Power.

Solar Batteries are powering the house.  We HAVE a generator and fuel when needed.

The last time we got a heavy, wet, snow like this, a slew of trees had come down and took out electric here for FIVE DAYS!   Got through it OK thanks to the generator, albeit at one gallon of fuel per hour.  VERY expensive.

This storm is scheduled to abate around 4:00 PM this afternoon, so we seem to be through most of it - if the forecasters are right.

Onward we go . . .

UPDATE 3:36 PM EST --

Our local Utility company has been working to restore power.  As expected, the snow brought down a number of trees which brought down a number of sections of wire from utility poles.

As mentioned above, around 10:37 AM, we lost power here.   Around noon, my son and I went into town to pick up a few things, when we got back, the road was BLOCKED at our driveway and a telephone pole was on fire about 100' north of our property.

Apparently, as they restored power farther up the road, this OTHER wire that had gone down, got power, and went on fire!

The fire is out.  Still have no electric.  They're working on it.
