The National Weather Service Global Forecasting System (GFS) is predicting Blizzard conditions in the east for January 7, 8, and 9, as a major low pressure system moves up the east coast. Heavy snow is shown on the computer models.

Of course, predicting the weather over a week out is not anywhere near exact science. Computer models are just that: Models. They can and often do, change.
But this is worth a heads-up to everyone to prepare, just in case.
