Impeachment Filed Against Judge Who Blocked Trump Executive Order

Impeachment Filed Against Judge Who Blocked Trump Executive Order

The United States House of Representatives has introduced Articles of Impeachment against United States District Court Judge Paul Engelmayer of the Southern District of New York for blocking a Presidential Executive Order and for Conflict of Interest.

Rep. Derrick Van Orden has filed a resolution to impeach Engelmayer, after the Obama-appointed judge blocked DOGE from accessing Treasury systems.   It is not within the power of a Judge to block anyone in the Executive Branch from accessing records OF the Executive Branch.

The Judge's Order specifically mentioned "political appointees" meaning the Secretary of the Treasury, even though that man had been approved by the US Senate.

It's as if the Judge tried to create a fourth Branch of Government - Civil Servants - even though they work for the President, must answer to the President and Presidential appointees, and can be fired by that same President.

These actions by the judge appear to be Judicial bad behavior.
