Astonishing trouble is brewing in the five boroughs of New York City in the 24 hours since Zorhan Mamdani won the Mayor election.
Minutes after Zohran Mamdani’s mayoral win, panicked New York parents started calling school consultants like it was a 5-alarm fire drill.
Within half an hour of the results, education advisor Christopher Rim said 23 families reached out begging to get their kids into private schools outside the city.
Most of the new calls are from Jewish families worried about rising antisemitism and Mamdani’s harsh views on Israel. One rabbi even announced plans to open a new Jewish day school in the Hamptons to handle the exodus, saying “thousands” of families will leave the city for good.
Polls show 9% of New York City residents plan to leave immediately, while another 25% are thinking about it. Top destination? Florida, because if you’re going to escape socialism, you might as well do it somewhere sunny.
