RUMOR: Unconfirmed Rumors Say Venezuelan Drug Cartels DRONED Chevron Refinery in California Causing Explosion

Completely unconfirmed RUMORS are circulating widely, which allude to the possibility that DRUG CARTELS sent an explosive-laden drone into the Chevron Refinery in El Segundo, CA today, causing a major explosion.

Some of the RUMORS claim it was Drug Cartels from Venezuela retaliating for the U.S. blowing up drug-boats in the Caribbean.

These are totally unconfirmed RUMORS that may have ZERO facts behind them.  But it does seem interesting that these rumors have cropped-up on the very day the explosion took place.

The Chevron refinery produces 45% Gasoline and 41% aviation fuel.   The explosion reportedly took place in the part of the refinery that handles aviation fuel.   That aviation fuel goes not only to commercial airlines at Los Angeles International Airport, it ALSO goes to U.S. miliary bases on the west coast.

The gasoline output from this refinery supplies twenty percent (20%) of all gasoline sold in southern California.

Could there be gasoline shortages within a few days?   Maybe!   (Fill up your gas cans tonight just in case!!!!)

This fuel cannot simply be replaced from other refineries because California has very complex rules for what fuel mixtures can be sold in that state, to comply with its very stringent pollution control requirements.

It is not yet known if the gasoline production capabilities were damaged.  It is also not yet known if - or how badly - the aviation fuel production capacity will be affected.
