USGS: Magnitude 2.7 "EXPLOSION" in Oregon

USGS: Magnitude 2.7 "EXPLOSION" in Oregon

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is reporting on its Earthquake page, a "Magnitude 2.7 EXPLOSION" in Oregon.   Even more strange, they report it took place at a "Depth" of MINUS 1.5km . . . . above the Seismograph sensor / ground! ! !

According to the USGS, the explosion happened at 20:30 Hours UTC, which would be 3:30 PM on the US east Coast, and 12:30 in the afternoon local time in Oregon.

It should be pointed out that USGS routinely reports other types of "explosions" such as Quarry" explosions, or even "Nuclear" explosions when North Korea test-detonated nukes in that country.  But this one is strange.

The reason it is strange is that when the World Trade Center collapsed in New York City from the attacks of 9-11, those buildings coming down registered as a Magnitude 2.1 "earthquake."  This thing in Oregon, was more powerful!  M2.7

No one is calling this a "Quarry explosion" or a "Mining Explosion."  It is simply labeled "Explosion."

So what was it that exploded with such force, it was more powerful than the World Trade Center collapsing in New York City on 9-11?????

No one is saying.   No media coverage.
