The US State Department has sent notice to Congress that they have CERTIFIED a proposed license under the Arms Export Control Act for another $50 Million worth of "Defense Articles" for . . . Ukraine.
The Congressional Record today shows the following notice:
EC-859. A communication from the Senior Bureau Official, Legislative Affairs, Department of State, transmitting, pursuant to section 36(c) of the Arms Export Control Act, the certification of a proposed license for the export of defense articles, including technical data, and defense services to Ukraine in the amount of $50,000,000 or more (Transmittal No. DDTC 25-027) received in the Office of the President pro tempore; to the Committee on Foreign Relations.
What happened to "no more aid to Ukraine?" What happened to negotiating a ceasefire or a peace deal? What happened to all the ongoing meetings between the US and Russia?
The notice describes $50 million -- OR MORE -- in "defense articles" without saying what those defense articles actually are. What are they?
Since they require a license under the Arms Export Control Act, it seems logical they are more weapons.
Why are we sending more weapons to Ukraine?
Is this just some song and dance from government; they say we're working toward peace, they say we're negotiating with the Russians, and now, (surprise!) we're sending more weapons????
It's starting to look as though we're being "slow walked in a circle" so that after all the talk for weeks and months is done, we are right back where we started, still doing exactly, precisely, the same thing we were doing when this trouble all began.
