The Supreme Leader of Iran, the Ayatollah Khamenei, has instructed his government as to "Red Lines" with regard to the "indirect" negotiations with the United States concerning Iran's nuclear program:
No dismantling of centrifuges
No halting uranium enrichment
No reduction in enriched uranium stockpile
No negotiations over its missile program.
Within the United States government, reports from insiders say this does not leave much - if any- room to negotiate in a meaningful way. It appears contacts between Iran and the U.S. are doomed to failure.
It is now deemed "highly likely" that a military confrontation is coming.
