As reported earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio along with Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and President Trump's son-in-law Jared Kuschner met with a peace delegation from Ukraine to try to work out a peace deal in the Ukraine-Russia Conflict.
The US explained (again) to the Ukrainians they must agree to not join NATO and they must agree to formally relinquish territories of Crimea, Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporozhia, which they have already lost in the conflict. Ukraine flatly refused, insisting instead on a ceasefire at the present line of contact.
Russia won't even consider a ceasefire because Russia knows Ukraine will only use that time to re-arm and re-deploy more troops, then start fighting again from a stronger position. Russia has repeatedly and explicitly rejected all ceasefire proposals. What part of "no" do the Ukrainians not understand?
By any practical, realistic, measure, these "peace talks" are going nowhere.
Clearly the war will continue until one side either surrenders, or is completely destroyed.
